Beyond PinkOnline.com was developed to promote a proactive approach
to breast cancer awareness and treatment through empowerment versus acceptance. The information within the site and the interactive message
boards are designed help patients and caregivers navigate through breast
cancer treatment in order to treat their body, mind and spirit.

As a nurse, educator and a young breast cancer survivor, I offer my
perspective with candor based on my experiences throughout treatment
as well as my knowledge as a surgical nurse. It is my hope this information
will give patients and caregivers courage and empowerment not only during treatment, but for a lifetime.

Through Beyond Pink, I offer newly diagnosed patients and their caregivers an opportunity to contact me so that I can offer support to help guide them through treatment.

Additionally, I offer organizations an opportunity for me to speak to groups regarding breast cancer awareness, decision-making and survivorship care.

Finally, I offer an opportunity to share their thoughts on and respond to my book  “I Didn’t Order This Pink Ribbon.”

.
The Beyond Pink Ribbon represents a pro-active approach to treatment - an attitude of empowerment, rather than acceptance, to move through treatment with courage. The animation of the ribbon sends a message that attitude makes a big difference in how one moves through recovery because breast cancer treatment encompasses body. mind, and spirit. Moreover, the personality of the ribbon allows an underlying theme to resonate: " I am beautiful, and no physical attribute shall define me!" As a young breast cancer survivor, I am excited to offer patients and care givers a fresh perspective on treatment as well as life after treatment.
